Glimpses

Glimpses, my first photographic book, was published in June 2008. It contains over 100 full-page images taken by me over the last five years, sorted by topic and style.
Is a camera only a tool to create a photograph?
Is a photograph the snapshot of a moment in time, or a representation of what the photographer sees?
Is the photographer an artist, or a mere reporter of reality?
Ranging from viewer-acclaimed landscapes to breath-taking macrophotography, from “carpe diem” pet shots to professional-looking photos of everyday items in a skillfully self-built light box, from water games to a first foray into downtown candid portraiture, every image tells a story of its own. For this very reason, no photo has a title. Beauty, the say, lies in the eye of the beholder.
Glimpses is structured around seven main topics (Black and white, Macrophotography, People, Cityscapes, Seascape, Animals and Lightbox), albeit — as it is often the case with visual arts — many images spans several themes and were arbitrarily made to belong to one only.
Here are a few samples from each category. Please note that the watermark and the cross are not printed on the book; they serve merely as a deterrent against image thievery. Moreover, the images in the book are cropped according to my sense of creativity; what I am showing here is the raw drafts.
In addition to the above samples, a full — but smaller — preview of the whole book can be accessed here. A cool flash preview of the first ten pages is available here
Glimpses comes in three versions: Softcover, Hardcover with dust jacket and Hardcover ImageWrap. The only difference lies in the cover, as the contents are the same. Furthermore, the contents of the dust jacket are replicated on a page at the end of the book, so that buyers of the other two versions don't miss out on anything.
Glimpses is printed on demand whenever a customer purchases it. Upon completion of the payment, Blurb (the publisher) prints a copy and ships it as soon as it is ready; the whole process takes a total of ten days or so. Each copy of the book is therefore printed professionally when needed, ensuring that it is almost literally hot from the press. Note that the prices in U.S. Dollars and U.K. Pounds are not rounded, as the official prices are in Euro and are converted automatically to reflect the current exchange rate.
If you are interested in additional information about Glimpses and/or want to obtain a copy, please visit Blurb's catalog page.
In any case, thank you very much for patronage!
